My favorite scene from Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. The piece finds Emily burdened with sadness and barely able to move her hand to play … but with music and Victor by her side, her spirit quickly lifts to the point where she cannot stop her hand from dancing on the keys.
I wish they had played for longer.
Music is such a powerful force.
It can deceive us by evoking feelings best suppressed.
It can lift our spirits and motivate us when required.
It can whisper understanding into our ears like a dear friend.
